Selong Belanak is a beautiful sheltered bay with white sand, turquoise water, and small rolling waves — often with buffalo cruising the beach. The sandy bottom slopes gently, so the waves have little power and a soft lip that spills slowly, making it the ultimate learner's wave in Lombok. It's where most of our beginners stand up for the first time, in a safe spot with no reef and very few hazards (besides a few soft-top boards). A fun, easy first step into surfing.
