About Are Guling
Are Guling is an A-frame, which means the wave peaks in one spot and breaks both ways — so you can take off and go either left or right from the same peak. The right is the main side, with long, fun rides and space for turns (and sometimes a small barrel). The left is shorter and faster, and often gets hollow, so it's a bit more challenging. Both sides are best in the wet season (October to April), when the wind is offshore and the bay stays clean.
